An interview with Saumya Gogia What was the inspiration behind starting your own label? Was it always part of the plan ? I grew up watching my mom do all the stitching and embroidery work at home. It was fascinating and she was my inspiration since childhood. Her designs made me fall in love with fashion designing. It wasn't really part of the plan as i did masters in commerce but it was in my bloodline, and it came on to me after a certain time. With the pandemic and the third wave coming around the corner there might be a possibility of a lockdown. What do you think about the challenges that you've faced or might face with the pandemic hitting us ? I started my label during the second wave of the Covid pandemic, and it was a lockdown in our city. So once you are through that phase, half of the job is already done. I had to take care of the labour, expenses, and demands.
If you had to choose an alternate career, what would be your preference? I dreamt of being a lecturer, that's why I did masters in commerce. Your collections have pretty amazing names like - Sunehri, Rosa, Oceanic. What is the inspiration behind them? Which is your favourite collection ? Modish'20 is my favourite collection as it was my first collection and is dearer to me. The inspiration behind these names comes from the colour, designs, the picture of the collection and how it turns out to be.
