With the all-new Defender, Land Rover reintroduces one of its
most iconic nameplates. Its boxy body and retro accents
harken back to the original from the 1950s, and blend with
Land Rover's modern design language to create a smart and
nostalgic look. When you think about it, this isn't exactly a
traditional luxury car, but it's a vehicle that will keep you
warm while navigating even the most treacherous roads.
The Defender's interior straddles the line between premium
and practical, with just enough design elements from the rest
of the Land Rover lineup to make fans feel at ease. Exposed
rivets in the door panels give the car a tough look, and a
magnesium beam that runs the length of the dashboard isn't
just for show—also it's functional.
The Defender may appear to be a regular crossover, but it
boasts substantial off-road skills and robust components that
enable it live up to its go-anywhere reputation. Durable cabin
furnishings, as well as expensive materials and a slew of
luxury features, are all standard on the Defender. The wood
trims are high-end, the leather is top-notch, and the entire
cabin has a high-end vibe. So we’re sure this would be a prized
possession even in a 50 crore garage.
A 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 3.0-litre petrol engine are
available in the Land Rover Defender. The
former generates 296bhp and 400Nm of torque, while the
latter generates 394bhp and 550Nm. A 3.0-litre diesel engine
with 296 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque is also available.
The AWD technology provides power to all four wheels via an
eight-speed automatic transmission.
