She got her start under her birth name Katy Hudson with a self-titled debut album in 2001, but she didn’t really break out until she took on her new moniker and released her breakthrough “One of the Boys” in 2008. Since then she has thrown hit after hit that sounded everywhere. Her music influenced the sound and style of an entire decade, and her legacy continues. We dare to say that there was a period between 2008 and probably 2013 when Katy Perry was one of the most famous singers if not the most important in the pop world.
