Someone we Miss - Blast from the Past
Ford Endeavour
In this month’s edition we’ve chosen the Ford Endeavour as the car we miss as Ford stopped production in India recently
and exited the market after bearing major losses as per the company. The Endeavour has been an iconic car in the Indian market ever since its launch in 2003 and the 2016 update made the car even more popular.
The car came with many unheard-of features, great comfort and road presence of a truck. The SUV's clean, uncomplicated lines and high stance have held up well over the years. Ford India updated the Endeavour with a wider, chrome-laden grille, a reworked front bumper, dual-tone wheels, and the diffused silver paint shade seen here last year, and the revisions have proven to be successful. Ford also included LED headlights and rear seats that fold at the touch of a button.
The Endeavour was offered with a single 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine at the end of its life cycle, which replaced the previously available 2.2-litre four-cylinder and 3.2-litre five- cylinder turbocharged diesels. The Blue Oval's EcoBlue series has a new BSVI-compliant engine. The diesel version of Ford's Ecoboost gasoline engines.
Three-zone climate control, parallel-park assist, keyless entry and start, hands-free boot operation, and eight-way power adjustment for both front seats were among the other amenities available on the car’s Titanium Plus model. The Endeavour continued to provide ABS, ESP, and seven airbags, as well as parking sensors fore and aft, automatic headlights, and wipers. Everything you could ask from your daily driver off-roader was available on this car and dare I say it all felt better executed than the Toyota Fortuner.
